Ownership
The Camillus Cutlery Company of Camillus, New York closed in 2007. Acme United bought the name; it sold Camillus with the Cuda line to GSM Outdoors in November 2023.
Why Avoid
Camillus's site says "Since 1876, Camillus Cutlery has been supplying the world with reliable, innovative, and quality-made knives". The Camillus Cutlery Company closed in February 2007, after a six-month strike, and Acme United bought its brand name, patents and trademarks for about $200,000 that September. Acme sold the Camillus line to GSM Holdings in November 2023. The site does not mention the closure or say where its knives are made, apart from a "USA Made" category.
