Ownership
Founder-owned by Everett Carson, no outside investors found. Founded ~2013, first shoe (the 10/10 Carbon Neutral) launched spring 2014.
Why Approved
Owns the factory, which is the whole thesis of the essay it appears in. The premium over a contract-made shoe ($225 vs $140) is the visible price of the structure everyone else abandoned. Tested-asterisk, stated plainly: we have not run in them.
Reversibility
What would change our verdict
Sale, outside investment, outsourcing of any production step, closure. On the upside: a WOP wear-test would firm up Approved.
