Ownership
Gant passed through US conglomerates (Consolidated Foods, Palm Beach, Crystal Brands, PVH). Swedish licensee Pyramid Sportswear bought the US business back from PVH in 1999, and Maus Frères has owned it since 2008.
Why Watchlist
Gant markets a 1949 founding in New Haven, Connecticut. Wikipedia, citing the New Haven Register, says New Haven operations ended in 1979, and Swedish licensees have run the brand since the 1980s. It is now headquartered in Stockholm under Swiss ownership, and current production countries were not confirmed.
