Ownership
The MG name passed to Nanjing Automobile after MG Rover collapsed in 2005, then to SAIC, a Chinese state-controlled carmaker. MG UK runs sales, design and marketing in Britain.
Why Watchlist
MG's UK centenary page tells the 1924 Morris Garages story and does not mention SAIC, China or where current cars are built. The name has belonged to Chinese owners since 2005, and UK assembly at Longbridge ended in 2016.
