Old Southern Brass
Bottle openers, keychains and gifts made from or styled as bullet casings, sold to buyers who value military and Southern identity. The veteran-run and charity story was part of the pitch.

Ownership
A small Florida LLC owned by Austin Oliver, who was named personally in the FTC order.
Why Avoid
Old Southern Brass said its products were "100% American made", that it was veteran-operated and that it gave 10% of sales to military charities. The FTC alleged that many products were wholly imported from China, that the company was not operated by a veteran and that its charitable deductions were less than half of one percent of sales. The company and its owner settled in 2023-24 under a $4.57 million judgment, suspended above $150,000 because they could not pay.
Reversibility
What would change our verdict
The FTC order is no longer in force and current products carry accurate country-of-origin labels.
