Ownership

Unilever bought the company in 2017 (reported at about $140 million). Unilever also owns Hellmann's, the market leader the brand was set up to challenge.

Why Watchlist

The brand is named for Sir Kensington, an Oxford-educated British gentleman said to have made ketchup for Catherine the Great. Quartz and Wikipedia report the character was invented by Brown University students who founded the company in 2008. Unilever has owned it since 2017.
