Ownership
PMI bought the Stanley brand outright in 2002, bounded by 1966 and 2012 coexistence agreements with Stanley Works. HAVI acquired PMI in September 2021, right before Quencher revenue ran from $73M (2019) to $750M (2023).
Why Watchlist
Lead-pellet class actions were dismissed twice, but a real CPSC recall hit in December 2024: 2.6M travel mugs, 38 burns. Stanley Black & Decker sued PMI in February 2025 over the Stanley 1913 rebrand. Two companies fighting over a name neither built.
