Ownership
The name passed to Italian owners (WP Lavori in Corso, 2016; L-GAM, 2018), then was split by territory. Baoxiniao, a Chinese apparel group, holds it outside Europe under a deal announced in December 2024, and BasicNet agreed in November 2025 to buy the European business.
Why Avoid
Woolrich's US homepage title reads "American Heritage Since 1830", and its heritage page tells the story of its Pennsylvania woolen mill without saying that the mill stopped making fabric at the end of 2018 or that its equipment was auctioned in 2023. The name has since passed through Italian owners and is now split by territory: Chinese apparel group Baoxiniao bought the rights outside Europe in December 2024, and BasicNet agreed in November 2025 to buy the European business. Woolrich's product pages do name the country of manufacture, such as India, Vietnam and Indonesia.
Reversibility
What would change our verdict
The heritage page discloses the mill closure and where products are made today. Production returns to the Pennsylvania mill.
