Ownership
Acquired by Atrium Sept 2009 for ~$35m initial consideration at 6.5x 2009 EBITDA; founder Jordan Rubin stayed as CEO. Passed to Nestle with Atrium in 2017-18. Nestle has said it intends to keep it.
Why Watchlist
Consumer Reports measured ~2.8 mcg lead per serving in the Sport Organic Plant-Based line against CR's own 0.5 mcg/day concern level, and a class action over lead in the plant protein followed. On a brand that has never owned the plant making it.
