Ownership
Corning spun off its consumer division in 1998 in a KKR/Borden leveraged deal. Passed through the World Kitchen bankruptcy (2002), Cornell Capital's Instant Brands (Chapter 11 2023), then to Centre Lane Partners, which folded it into Anchor Hocking in 2024.
Why Avoid
Centre Lane closed the 132-year-old Charleroi PA plant in April 2025. The PA attorney general alleges the Anchor Hocking combination controls over 91 percent of US glass bakeware. The soda-lime switch predates PE ownership but the safety margin is documented as borderline.
