Raleigh

Mid-market bikes and e-bikes sold through UK and Irish dealers and chains. Buyers trust the Nottingham name, the Chopper and a racing pedigree.

Status: Watchlist

Ownership

Accell bought Raleigh for €100 million in 2012 and KKR bought Accell in 2022. Lenders took over in February 2026, and in August 2026 Accell entered insolvency proceedings; the sale of its brands was unresolved in the sources read.

Why Watchlist

Raleigh sells a Nottingham heritage dating to the 1880s. Trade histories say UK frame-building ended around the turn of the century (verify). The brand's Dutch parent, lender-owned since February 2026, began insolvency proceedings in August 2026, and the current country of manufacture is not confirmed here.
