Ownership

Founded 2012 in Phoenix by JT Marino and Daehee Park as a bootstrapped DTC mattress startup. Acquired by Serta Simmons Bedding in 2018 in a deal that combined T&N with SSB's portfolio. Now operates as a sub-brand within Serta Simmons, which is itself owned by Advent International (PE) and emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2023.

Why Avoid

A founder-led DTC bootstrap absorbed into the same legacy mattress conglomerate structure the original DTC pitch was built against. Now sister-brand to Serta and Beautyrest within the Advent International / Serta Simmons portfolio.
