Ownership

Warners traces its origins to the Warner Brothers Corset Company in the 1870s and was part of the Warnaco Group for most of the modern era. PVH Corp acquired Warnaco in February 2013 for $2.8 billion, primarily to consolidate the Calvin Klein brands; the deal also brought Warners and Olga along. PVH then sold Warners, Olga, and True&Co. to Basic Resources, a private family-owned apparel manufacturer, on November 13, 2023, for $160 million plus a $10 million earnout. Warners subsequently appeared in WHP Global's portfolio listing alongside Vera Wang, Isaac Mizrahi, Anne Klein, and the rest of WHP's fashion vertical, with the exact transfer terms from Basic Resources to WHP not yet publicly detailed at time of writing.

Why Avoid

The brand has cycled through Warnaco, PVH, Basic Resources, and now WHP in roughly a decade. Mass-channel distribution at Walmart/Target/Kohl's/Amazon under a brand licensing parent is the canonical setup for steady quality decline.
